The potential of the premium video content provided mainly by TV broadcasters in the Greek digital video ecosystem was mapped for the second year in a row through a measurement carried out in October 2020, by Phaistos Networks.

The collected data highlight the augmented interest in the professional video content offered on WebTVs and on GR Publishers via glomex, as the number of unique individuals consuming the content in said environment has shown an impressive increase of nearly 1 million, compared to the 2019
measurement (from 4.42 to 5.35 million).
It is worth noting that, using Nielsen’s DAR specialized solution, the measurement refers to actual unique individuals, regardless of their use of browsers and number of devices.
Among other significant findings, the measurement shows that the total Audience Reach in the age group of 18-54 is close to 82%, with the percentages of women and men presenting a YoY increase, while the ratio remains very balanced (85% and 78% respectively).
The measured video content was that of the nationwide TV broadcasters, Pay TVs and niche producers, either offered on their WebTVs or additionally channeled through glomex to more than 120 websites in the Greek market, while non-Greek platforms, like YouTube, were excluded as in the 2019 measurement.
The increasing dynamic of said content in the GR video ecosystem – as documented through the significant increase not only in the audience consuming it, but also in the average frequency (from 7.8 to 12.8 in the age group 18-54) – strongly highlights the opportunities that surface for all parties involved (Broadcasters, Content Producers/Providers, Publishers, Agencies & Brands).
